What do you enjoy most about being a Chamber member? We enjoy meeting and connecting with other business leaders in Siouxland.

What is your favorite Chamber event/memory? When I was new in my position, I reached out to the Chamber. The staff was very helpful in guiding me, directing me, connecting me with resources offered by the Chamber. They also offered suggestions for me in my new role. This boost and insight was just what I needed to give me the confidence to really dig in and work to make Active Generations the Center our community needs today and tomorrow.

What is a fun or surprising fact about your company/business? The Senior Center in Sioux City started because of a dream. Beulah Webb, who is considered one of the great senior ladies of Iowa, had a dream of giving the seniors in Sioux City a place to hang out besides the bus depot and the shoe department at Younkers. As far back as 1969, Beulah Webb imagined a place downtown where seniors could stop to rest and feel at home. After almost two years of fundraising the Senior Center opened its doors on November 1, 1974. The original location was at 406 5th St.
