Missouri River Relief- Siouxland Clean-Up  ’093567815879_7882402bdc

Last years clean up was a great success with a huge turnout.  This years Missouri River Relief is going to be even bigger!  There is a large group of Siouxland river enthusiasts and Siouxland partners on the board this year to make this years even better than the last.  Volunteers  from all over the area are all pitching in.  Don’t worry, for all the storms we’ve had in the past year there will be plenty of trash for everyone…   Last year there was around 15 tons of trash taken off the Mizzou.   This year, lets get 15 more tons and then some!

Clean-up Time 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  SATURDAY,  June 27th

BlBridgeWhen you live in a certain place it’s easy to forget why your community is so special. Sometimes it takes a little gentle reminder to us all that we really do live in a  unique and entertaining tri-state area. See what some  county treasurers and deputies had to say about their recent trip to Sioux City. I think friendly and genuine Midwesterners is what makes us all so happy. 🙂

-Tracey from Cass County Iowa wrote:

It was awesome !! The food, the entertainment, the hosting, the meeting, and the hospitality of everyone! WOW Most of all your courthouse is absolutely amazing!!! Thanks so much for everything

-Doug from Jasper County Iowa wrote:

Job well done! I had visions of an old livestock town and I couldn’t have been any more incorrect in my assumptions! the renovated downtown is unbelievable and something that you should be very proud of.  The activities were well balanced and I will have many memories to share in the future.

-Carolyn from Shelby County Iowa wrote:

I am sure you have been inundated with emails bragging about your hospitality. It truly didn’t go unnoticed. My family and I get to Sioux City quite often.  However, I saw a side of Sioux City I had never seen before and probably never will again.  I couldn’t wait to get home and tell my family, staff, and friends about the many new things I was honored to participate in.  Thanks for showing Sioux City off to the rest of the state!

-Mary from Decatur County Iowa wrote:

Your courthouse and staff made [the] evening spectacular.  The Orpheum was the most beautiful building I have ever seen and the entertainment was great.

-Debbie from Clarke County Iowa wrote:

This was my first May conference as Clarke County Treasurer and I must say that the experience was even more wonderful than I ever imagined it would be.  I really had fun.

See if former Sioux City Musketeer, Ruslan Fedotenko, now Pittsburgh Penguin, can pull off a win in game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight. The Penguins take on the Detroit Red Wings on home ice. Catch the game at 7:00 central time on Versus.

Before breaking into the NHL Fedotenko was a Sioux City Musketeer during the 1998-99 season. He went on to play for the Philadelphia Flyers until 2002 when he signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was here that Fedotenko had his first Stanley cup victory scoring the game winning goal in game 7 of the 2004 finals, bringing the cup to the Tampa Bay franchise for the first time. Fedotenko brought “Lord Stanley” back to Sioux City on August 15, 2004 to share with over 3,000 fans at the Tyson Events Center.

Fedotenko’s going for cup number two in this year’s Stanley Cup Finals. Pittsburgh is down by one game in the series going into game 4 tonight. Pittsburgh is looking for revenge after losing to Detroit in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals last year.

Good luck to Ruslan!
