Annual Membership Meeting
The annual membership meeting is the membership’s opportunity to vote for the Dakota Valley Business Council Board of Directors and Officers. This event, usually held in September is held in conjunction with the monthly business coffee.
Quarterly Membership Meetings
Quarterly membership meetings inform members of important issues affecting the community and state. Past meetings have featured an address from the South Dakota Chamber President, economic development updates or trends and legislative review sessions with state legislators. Quarterly membership meetings are held in conjunction with the monthly business coffee.
The legislative committee meets periodically from October through April to: generate a legislative agenda that includes the business community’s priorities to be lobbied during the next South Dakota legislative session; plan the annual Pierre Legislative Days lobbying trip (held in early February); and participate in conference calls with other business leaders in South Dakota to discuss legislative updates and up to the minute bill status. The committee also plans candidate forums and meetings with various state officials.
Annual Siouxland/Washington Conference and Steak Dinner
During the annual Siouxland/Washington Conference, Dakota Valley Business Council members join with other regional leaders to communicate with congressional leaders in the tri-state area on national issues in cooperation with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce. This event is typically held in April.
Monthly Business Coffees
Monthly business coffees provide members an opportunity to showcase their business and network with other business leaders.
South Dakota Boards and Commissions
